Training high-quality human resources in basic theory, reasonable in-depth knowledge, and modern research methods in the field of geology, qualified to solve theoretical and practical problems of the geology industry, meeting the domestic demand for highly qualified human resources in the field of Geology in basic and applied directions, especially for scientific research and management units in Southern provinces of Vietnam and neighboring countries in the ASEAN region.
The doctoral training program in Geology focuses on research directions, including:
– Petrology, mineralogy and geochemistry;
– Regional geology, geological structure and geotectonics;
– Lithology and mineralogy;
– Petroleum geology;
– Mineral geology;
– Geology and marine mineral resources;
– Quaternary geology and weathering crust.
– Environmental geology and geological hazards, climate change.
– Environmental geology, hydrogeology – engineering geology.

After graduating, students have enough in-depth knowledge, skills, and ability to build a practice system in the field of Geological Engineering, have independent and proactive working skills, and have the ability to detect and solve problems logically and creatively. Students have the ability to do scientific research to continue studying and researching at more specialized training levels at home and abroad.

Bachelor of Science in Geology:
The bachelor’s program in geology aims to train bachelors with background knowledge in natural and social sciences and solid expertise, intellectual capacity, political qualities, and good professional ethics to meet the needs of human resources in the field of geology, serving the socio-economic development of Vietnam and the world in the 4.0 industrial era.
The bachelor’s program in Geology has 06 majors: (1) Mineral geology, (2) Gemology, (3) Petroleum geology, (4) Marine geology, (5) Hydrogeology and Engineering Geology and (6) Environmental geology.
Bachelor of Scienec in Geological Engineering:
The bachelor’s program in Geological Engineering aims to train bachelors with good moral qualities, have basic theoretical qualifications, in-depth knowledge and skills; has research methods, field survey methods, solves practical geological engineering problems, and meets the needs of society in the field of geological engineering. Ability to self-train and continue advanced study at the postgraduate level at home and abroad.
