From February 10 to 16, 2025, the Faculty of Geology at the University of Science – Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, in collaboration with National Taiwan University and National Taiwan Normal University, successfully organized its first-ever joint field trip for fourth-year students in the Da Nang – Quang Nam – Kon Tum region.
This initiative provided a unique learning experience, allowing students from Vietnam and Taiwan to explore metamorphic rocks and magmatic formations in real-world settings. Beyond academic studies, the trip also featured two immersive excursions:
- A visit to Ba Na Hills, offering breathtaking views of Da Nang’s distinctive landscape.
- A geological exploration of sedimentary and metamorphic rocks at Non Nuoc Pagoda (Marble Mountains).
The field trip was a resounding success, enriching students with invaluable knowledge and hands-on experiences. It also paved the way for future collaborative field courses, strengthening academic ties between Vietnamese and Taiwanese universities.
